Making the Rounds at General Hospital – Love and Romance Are in the Air

It was all about love, and romance this past week on GH as Carly and Sonny remarried, Lucky found out the truth about Maxie’s pregnancy and turned to Liz for comfort and support. Patrick asked Robin to move in while Nikolas and Emily grew closer as they searched for Spencer. In contrast, Ric stepped up his custody efforts.

Even though a witness stepped up who could prove Sonny shot Lorenzo in self-defense, Sonny made sure his wedding to Carly went forward. She resisted hard, wanting to remain loyal to Jax and knowing in her heart her and Sonny are just plain bad for each other. Those two reasons, however, were not enough to keep her from protecting the father of her children from jail time and the wedding went through.

Sonny continued to try and make it something romantic, something real, and the harder he pushed the harder she fought. The private ceremony at Sonny’s house was moved to the courthouse on her insistence. When Carly found out about the reception at Sonny’s she implored Max to create a diversion so she could escape town with her children…  (continue reading)

Making the Rounds at General Hospital – Desperate Times and Desperate Measures

Last week on General Hospital Sonny faced the consequences of shooting Lorenzo as Carly scrambled to avoid the only way to keep herself from testifying. In the meantime, Nikolas and Emily follow the trail to Spencer and its horrifying end. Also, Tracy was threatened by Sam who tried to move forward with Jason despite Liz’s interference.

True to style, Carly spoke first and thought later – way later – on several occasions this past week. First, despite Sonny’s efforts to contain her, she insisted to the police that Sonny shot Lorenzo in self-defense. Forget the only thing she actually saw was Sonny’s gun going off and Lorenzo hitting the floor. When it became evident there was no way Sonny was going to avoid an attempted murder – murder if Lorenzo died – charge, Jason pointed out there was only way for Carly to avoid testifying. The same thought occurred to a thrilled Sonny. (Continue reading)

Bowling For Soup – Almost

Video to song which is the subject of the following post.

Almost!

I almost dropped out to move to LA
Where I was almost famous for almost a day

And I almost had you
But I guess that doesn’t cut it
Almost loved you
I almost wished you would’ve loved me too

Okay – so my new latest obsession is Bowling For Soup, and “Almost” has been on repeat on my iPod for quite some time (along with “Two Seater” and “Tucker Hat” but that’s the subject of another post).

Way too many years ago I had this image of my future… a New York loft apartment, a bohemian sort of existence barely getting by on my writing, but living my art and being part of a way too hip community.  A California  beach house would be an acceptable replacement.

Lately I’ve been obsessing a lot about all those “almost”s in my life, especially that one of getting as far as way as possible instead of doing what was expected – Living my life for me instead of letting my life run me.  Especially in the last six months or so, my life is the product of my obligations – I barely have time to dream-chase… or even breathe.

It’s sad to weep for arms that almost held me, or a life I almost had.
